Here are a few tips for hanging pictures....the girlie way!
- Always hang art work at eye level. Hanging a picture too high is like looking up the nose of a very tall person. The view...well, it just isn't as pleasing!
- Use small pictures grouped together in fours to give the illusion of larger art.
- Cut templates to size of your art work and arrange it on the wall with tacky tack. This trick allows you to move objects around to achieve your desired look before you drive a hole into your freshly painted wall.
- Frames do not have to match each other in finish or size to be grouped together. It's like wearing a broach with your pearls....if it works....It works! Just find a nice balance.
- When hanging a picture behind a sofa, don't leave a lot of wall space. Allow 3 to six inches between the picture and the sofa. This technique anchors the art to the furniture giving a uniform feeling.
- For extra sass in a country home, hang pictures from luxurious ribbons. This technique gives a little splash of tradition.....like our old penny loafers tucked away in the closet, you can't do without 'em.
